Hi my name is Roisin Torney I am 25 years old and have been a personal trainer for almost four years however I have been involved in sport practically my entire life. The main sports I am involved in are Gaelic football, Camogie and soccer playing each from 10 years of age.
I have played county football for a number of years with my main achievements being an Ulster title and All-Ireland title. I have also travelled to Chicago to play gaelic football and Camogie. In Chicago I captained our Gaelic team to win a State Championship Title and played in the Camogie team where we picked up the North American Championship Title. My most recent achievement in GAA was winning the Intermediate Championship with my local club.
I have a BSc Honours Degree in Communication, Advertising and Marketing with a diploma in Professional Practice but having worked in the industry for a number of years decided it wasn’t for me and to follow my long term passion for health and fitness. I gained my level 2 fitness instructing qualification followed by my level 3 in personal training and am currently studying to become a fully qualified nutrition coach with Body Type Nutrition aiming to have my award by April 2017. Thankfully leaving my 9-5 job was the best decision I ever made; I love my job! I love helping people achieve their goals, seeing their progress and being a part of their journey to being fitter, healthier and happier in their own skin.
I currently work out of Gymdock Downpatrick with personal training clients and also have Bootcamps and fitness classes in the Downpatrick area.
